We are engaging in regular training in the European art of fighting with any cold weapons.

We practice with cold weapon replicas for good technique and with plastic swords, shinai and cords with sports blades for speed. Once every six months, we organize sparring seminars open to any martial art with weapons, attended by fighters from Magisterium, Escrima, Filipino Kali, Kendo, Kobudo, Tai-ti, etc.

The training sessions are at least twice a week in the center of Prague (I.P. Pavlova) and, if interested, weekend seminars are also organized in the field and in the gym.

The teaching is individual, based on the Italian schools of Giacomo di Grassi and Salvatore Fabris and the fencing book of Joachim Meyer. The system begins with footwork and a one-handed weapon — a fang, a scramasax. It continues with a combination of weapons with a shield and buckler, and an axe.Separately we teach how to fight with the long pole and the spear. Next comes work with rapier, and a combination of two weapons — dusak, rapiers, rapier and dagger. The basics of fighting with cloak and net, baton and long ax are practiced.

What unites us is the love for cold weapons and the desire to develop the art of using them — even for real self-defense. We train fencing primarily as a martial art.

We also offer the possibility of organizing intensive training seminars in Prague, at request also outside Prague.

The school is open to new applicants throughout the year.

Has been engaging with fencing since around 2007, better known for his career as a reenactor focusing on the late Middle Ages - as a participant in tournaments and battle reenactments, he frequently attends events both in the Czech republic and abroad. Through this, he came to learn to fight in armor, i.e. harnischfechten, which he is currently intensively engaged in, trying to translate historical manuals and then interpret them during training practice.

Jiří Trnka

I've been around fencing since 2006, but that doesn't mean anything at all. As far as I know, no one else is doing this on purpose. In the Manus Regis group, we have been applying this approach for several years (I dare say successfully). The reason is that the answer to the first three questions is 3 times yes for us. Plus fencing improvisation brings us a deeper experience when performing on stage. If you are interested, come and try it, we are looking forward to it.
